  • Paxahau, the group behind Movement, has announced the first 35 acts to perform at this year's festival in Detroit. Movement, of course, is perhaps better known as the event that once went under the name Detroit Electronic Music Festival. But whatever the moniker, the organizers have always paid tribute to both electronic music's roots in Detroit and its international appeal as well. To that end, Derrick May, Kevin Saunderson, Carl Craig, Rick Wade, Mike Huckaby and Los Hermanos among others will represent the local side of things with Loco Dice vs. Luciano, François K, Wighnomy Brothers, Dennis Ferrer, Carl Cox, Osunlade and many more on hand to celebrate what the city has meant to them. You can view the initial line-up at the link below. And click on over to the Paxahau site to grab up tickets at a reduced $35 rate. Be quick, though, as that rate will only be in effect until March 23rd. Not playing at the festival, for sure? That'd be The Prodigy. Don't worry, though, they've been tapped to play the official opening party the night before at The Fillmore. Tickets go on sale—for that party—on Friday.
