- The London-based collective will release their first compilation in August.
London party crew Horse Meat Disco have announced details of their eponymous debut mix CD, to be released in August.
All it took was a dusty old box of disco records and a free-spirited attitude for Horse Meat Disco to become one of London's most celebrated soirees. Originally a simple, mixed gathering in China Town, the love has now been spread worldwide through a far-reaching series of tours and a semi-regular residency at Berlin's Tape Club in addition to the event's weekly bash at Eagle in Vauxhall.
Jim Stanton and James Hillard are the driving force behind the collective's debut compilation which promises "70 minutes of unadulterated disco nuggets." The pair blend tracks from Eddie Drennon, Laura Greene, Gino Soccino and Sheryl Lee Ralph on CD1, while CD2 remains an unmixed, slimmed-down version of the first disc. The package also includes detailed sleeve notes charting the club's history, written by Guardian scribe David Pascheck.
