The dub techno and ambient producer known as Bvdub will release his forthcoming album on the Detroit imprint later this month.
The San Franciscan producer has already made appearances on some of the biggest dub techno labels around, including Styrax, Meanwhile and Millions Of Moments, but now he's been picked up by Stephen Hitchell (who goes under a variety of names from Intrusion through to Variant) to release on the Detroit label. Van Wey is actually the first non-Echospace related artist to release new material on the label, and the tracks on White Clouds Drift On And On actually impressed Hitchell so much, that he decided to fashion six of his own Intrusion interpretations to include as a bonus disc.
Interestingly enough, Hitchell has decided to reverse Van Wey's running order on his disc, meaning that listeners sitting down to take in both CDs at once get an almost elliptical listening experience. Fans of previous Bvdub releases will know to expect more of Van Wey's stretched out blissful dubbiness with touches of ambient experimentalism, whilst you can be sure that Hitchell will be showing off his deft delay skills on the second CD.
