Warp announce hometown anniversary dates

- The original 1991 line-up of Nightmares on Wax is just one of the acts playing the Sheffield leg of Warp's 20th anniversary tour.
- Warp have steadily been revealing the plans for their 20th anniversary tour, and have today unveiled details of their hometown celebrations. It's now been twenty years since the Sheffield-based label released the jacking space-age house of Forgemasters' "Track With No Name," and Warp have already been partying hard to celebrate, with two nights at Paris' Cité de la Musique venue. Other events are planned in New York, Tokyo and London, but the main event is arguably the one based in Sheffield. Everything kicks off at 7pm on Saturday 19th September with a free Warp Films showcase at Park Hill Flats, where they'll be showing all sorts of short films as well as premiering the All Tomorrow's Parties film, which is based on the holiday park festival of the same name. Later on that evening at Q Parks, the dancing will commence with a cherry picked line-up of some of Warp's best acts from both past and present. The most notable appearance at the party is that of the original Nightmares on Wax line-up, reuniting Kev Harper (aka Boy Wonder) and George Evelyn (aka EASE) for the first time since their debut LP Word of Science back in 1991. Andrew Weatherall will also play a specially selected DJ set comprising of Sabres Of Paradise material and other classic '90s tracks, while Squarepusher will perform one of his hybrid bass guitar/DJ sets. The label's newer blood will be represented by the forward-thinking techno of Clark, wonky hip-hop merchant Hudson Mohawke, and Mark Pritchard in his Harmonic 313 guise. Tickets will be put on sale at 11am tomorrow morning.
