- The Belfast producer will release his debut album under his own name on Cocoon later this year.
Cocoon are set to release Phil Kieran's debut album under his own name next month.
Kieran has been active in the electronic music game for more than a decade now, taking in breakbeat, tech house, electro and techno throughout his career, but now he's decided that it's time to make the move to Papa Sven's Cocoon behemoth. The Belfast-based producer has already released two singles of his more minimal and tech house style on the label, but he's keen to show his diverse set of influences on the forthcoming full-length, which goes under the title of Shh.
"I tried to use all my knowledge from when I first got into music to try and make an album that captures everything I've ever loved about music," Phil explains. What does that mean? Kierann tells us to expect a blend of "blissed-out vocal samples, space-age electro, cavernous bleeps, fizzy technoid 4/4 beats, glistening glitches, crackers crackles, early R&S sounds, warm keys, acerbic bassline undertows, dense echoes, Orbital cinematics and randy robotics" when the record finally drops in September.
