- The diverse Dutch producer will release his sophomore album as a digital-only release later this month.
Aardvarck is set to drop his second full-length release later this month.
Mike Kivits is a hard producer to pin down. Over the last 16 years, the Dutchman has taken his hand to house, techno, nu-jazz, broken beat, dubstep, instrumental hip-hop and much more, often showing up producers who have been focusing on those styles for the whole of their career. All of his solo affairs have been put out by Dutch labels, and this pattern is set to continue with his Titi album, which will be released on Eat Concrete.
The music that finds its way onto Titi was originally conceived at the turn of the decade, and the sketches have been a work in progress ever since. According to the press notes, Kivits was going through "major shifts in his personal life" when originally laying down ideas for the project, with his darker, contemplative mood seemingly informing the vibe of the record. With nods to classic Detroit techno, hip-hop, broken beat and experimental ambience, it looks like Kivits isn't looking to curtail his musical diversity any time soon.
