Thankfully, London doesn't have a monopoly on all the good parties. Check our guide to see what's going on outside of the capital.
New Year's Eve is approaching quickly, and there are plenty of parties outside of London's capital that will equally vie for the attention and attendance of those in the UK for the holiday.
Manchester's Warehouse Project will be hosting the last dates of its current season come the turn of the decade, and although Deadmau5's show on the Wednesday night may be sold out, you can still secure your place at both their New Year's Eve and New Year's Day shindigs. Alex Metric and Ewan Pearson-produced indie-poppers Delphic cater to the neon ravers on December 31st, but the following day's closing party offers much more for fans of house and techno, with Tiefschwarz, Joris Voorn, Nick Curly and secretsundaze's Giles Smith and James Priestley all making appearances. Micron and Jupiter Rooms' residents offer a diverse mix of styles over at Joshua Brooks on NYE, while disco, boogie and house is the order of the day at D3K's party, with special guest slots bring filled by Italy's Volcov and London's Alex Bradley.
Leeds has had plenty to offer fans of four-to-the-floor over the past decade, and their New Year's Eve is no different. Mathew Jonson and Lee Van Dowski will headline System and The Bastard Son Of Dirty Disco's collaborative bash at Mint Club, while Jamie Jones will head north following his show at fabric to headline Back To Basics at My House. Those on a budget may want to make the most of Technique and Louche's free party at The Lounge, while drum'n'bass (Andy C, Commix, TC), dubstep (Rusko) and fidget house (Jesse Rose, Annie Mac) will be the order of the day at Stylus for Wax:on and Metropolis' event. Mono_cult will also be returning to The Faversham for their third consecutive New Year's Day do, with Âme, Gorge and Ethyl & Huxley leading the charge.
Birmingham's minimal house fans will no doubt be tempted by the triple header of Reboot, Italoboyz and Robert Dietz at the Rainbow Warehouse for TRMNL, while drum'n'bass (Logistics), dubstep (Caspa, Emalkay), breaks (Ali B and techno (James Ruskin, Perc) all get a place on the bill at the Custard Factory.
Further south in Bristol, Motion Skate Park will see the likes of Simian Mobile Disco, Seth Troxler, Roni Size, Shortstuff and Rusko all make appearances, but revellers wanting an evening full of drum'n'bass may want to check out Torque's bash at Basement 45, which features Alix Perez, Logistics and hometown hero DJ Die.
Those of you stuck over in Norwich could do much worse than heading down to see fabric resident Terry Francis strut his stuff down at Henry's, while readers in Northern Ireland are advised to head to the coastal town of Portrush to get their electronic music fix, as James Zabiela and King Unique will be taking control of the decks at Lush.
North of the border, Glasgow is the place to be, and although licensing restrictions mean that the clubs all close at 4am, TicTacToe Club will be opening the doors of Templeton Carpet Factory at 2pm, allowing for a full twelve hours of partying with Matthias Tanzmann as their headliner. The other choice for Glaswegian house and techno fans is Guillaume & The Coutu Dumonts and 2020 Vision's Ralph Lawson at Sub Club, while Optimo have plumped for Hudson Mohawke and Drums Of Death for their annual Hogmanay party—this year taking place at The Old Fruitmarket. Disco aficionados will be catered for by Melting Pot's party at The Admiral with Greg Wilson and The Revenge, while electro-house fans will have to travel to Aberdeen to get their kicks, with JoJo De Freq and Alan Braxe both set to play at Snafu.
