  • French company JazzMutant have today leaked the first peek at their forthcoming Mu controller for Ableton Live. Although we only have the three-minute video below to go on at this stage, it's looks like Mu could potentially blow all other Live control systems out of the water in terms of functionality. Of course, you will need to be the proud owner of one of their excellent, but wallet-emptying, Lemur touch-sensitive controllers, which last time we checked were retailing somewhere around the €2000 mark. Making use of Live's new Max for Live capabilities, Mu runs as a plug-in and primarily differs from existing methods of controlling the ever-popular DAW by offering full integration (no MIDI mapping here, folks). Any Live device can be brought under control by the system, while clips and scenes can be fired and resized via its brightly lit grid system. Details of Mu's release date and price point are yet to be determined, but we will of course keep you posted.
