- The San Francisco-based producer will release his debut album next month.
California-based artist J. Rogers will release his debut album, Access, next month on Blipswitch Digital.
For the past few years, Rogers has been an active member of San Francisco's techno and dubstep scene. His career jump-started in 2001 when, at the age of 17, Rogers placed third in a mix competition hosted by Muzik Magazine, a now-defunct British DJ mag (Rogers was the only American contestant). Shortly thereafter, Rogers postponed his DJ and production career to pursue a degree in music. In 2008, he reemerged on the scene as a trained pianist, conductor and composer, who now lists influences like John Coltrane and Stravinsky alongside 2562, Mark Farina and Ricardo Villalobos. For his debut album, Rogers focuses squarely on bass music, with ten deep tracks that weave between easily between techno and dubstep.
