  • Berlin-based minimal label Minus is ready to release Magda's first full-length, entitled From the Fallen Page. Despite just now releasing her debut album, Magda has been at the forefront of underground dance music for years. Having emigrated from Poland to the United States at the age of nine, she spent much of her young life in Detroit, where she befriended Daniel Bell, Marc Houle and Richie Hawtin. Inspired by the city's techno scene throughout the late '80s and '90s, she developed a taste for lean and punchy minimal and house that would eventually become her calling card. After Minus formed properly in 1998, she made made the move to Berlin, and has been a common fixture on the European club circuit ever since. To date, Magda has made her mark primarily as a DJ, both through her international gigs and mixes like She's a Dancing Machine, Fabric 49 and her early bootleg CD Fact and Friction. Meanwhile, her production catalog is notably brief, with just one 12-inch to her name so far: 2005's Stop, which included the track "48 Hour Crack in Your Bass." Little is known about the style of her new album, though a press release claims it was conceived as "post-punk, dark disco set of soundtrack-inspired music" before evolving into a more percussive, bassline-heavy affair. Tracklist 01. Get Down Goblin 02. Your Love Attack 03. Breakout 04. Entertainment 05. Lost In Time 06. Little Bad Habits 07. Doom Disco 08. Music Box 09. Distance To Nowhere 10. Japan Minus will release From the Fallen Page on October 22nd, 2010.
