Appleblim, Ikonika, Guido, Chef and J Da Flex are among the names selected by Joe Muggs for the double-disc set.

Adventures In Dubstep And Beyond is the title of Ministry Of Sound's latest dubstep compilation, which is due to hit shelves later this month.

The double-disc selection will be the label's second foray into UK bass music, following on from this year's The Sound Of Dubstep collection. Highly regarded dubstep journalist Joe Muggs has been enlisted to help out with the track selection process. Speaking recently to The Huffington Post, Muggs commented that the first compilation was more of a "hyper-mainstream" release, which "featured all the very obvious, in-your-face tunes, but I was also able to get some deeper, more credible tracks on there."

However, due to the commercial success of that release, Muggs has been given more of a free reign for Adventures In Dubstep And Beyond. As he explains, "I seized this opportunity to demonstrate dubstep's depth and breadth and to show that it is not a new trend or a flash-in-the-pan but a deep-rooted sound with a history and a future." The first-disc looks at the more recent developments in the scene, offering up plenty of 130 BPM skip with the garage-infused cuts of Martin Kemp, Sully, Noodles and Geiom & Appleblim. CD2 is an altogether much heavier affair, featuring the wild oscillations of Cardopusher, Coki, Stagga, Chef, and MRK1, with plenty of MC action colouring the sub-heavy bass along the way.
