- The French label's tenth compilation features Black Strobe, Justus Kohncke, Digitalism and more.
Parisian record label Kitsune Music is ready to release the tenth edition of its Kitsune Maison series, this time titled The Fireworks Issue.
Kitsune Music has released dance/rock crossover 12-inches since 2002, but it's their biannual compilations that has arguably made the biggest impression. By popularizing bands like Cut Copy, Klaxons, Simian Mobile Disco and Hot Chip, the Kitsune Maison series helped herald in the new rave trend. The Fireworks Issue is the heftiest edition yet, comprising two discs of indie electronic and electronically enhanced rock. Most of the acts included are new, though some of Kistune's core artists are also featured, including Digitalism and French duo Black Strobe. Hot Chip front man Alexis Taylor makes an appearance as well, singing over beats by Kompakt producer Justus Kohncke. Naturally, the collection will be be adorned with one of Kitsune Maison's trademark collages.
