- Gideon Hommes has a new album due out on his own label, Lessismore.
DJ and producer Gideon Hommes (often known simply as Gideon) will release his next album, New Tradition, this April as Alexis Tyrel.
Hommes has long been a prominent figure in the Dutch techno scene. Hailing from the southern city of Eindhoven, his early records were picked up by labels like Kanzleramt and Technasia's Sino. Back in 2003 he launched lessismorecordings, through which he's put out music from himself and like-minded artists such as Pelacha and MBC. New Tradition will be the label's 40th release yet. It shows Hommes staying loyal to the sound that's become his trademark: percussive, melodic techno with a slight tribal influence. The album combines previously unreleased tracks with selections from his career as Alexis Tyrel, including "Rebecca Loos," a 2006 single inspired by footballer David Beckham's affair with his personal assistant.
