  • Detroit promoter and label collective Detek will celebrate three years of operation with an all-night bash this weekend. Detek was founded in 2008 by local DJ Gabe Real as a way to throw parties and showcase local artists. Since then, the brand has begun expanding out of Detroit, while continuing to participate in parties around the Motor City. The Detek crew has also helped throw afterparties during Movement Festival, with house and techno acts like Seth Troxler, Matt Tolfrey and Bruno Pronsato. The party this Friday will feature a a new sound system and a special 3D performance by Detek's VJs, Vger and Unit Circle (3D glasses will be distributed by the club). The night's headliners are Polish duo Catz N' Dogz, who have become a fixture on Claude VonStroke's Mothership label. Sharing the top of the bill is another friend of VonStroke's, Dirtybird newcomer J.Phlip. Detroit's own Kris Wadsworth will play a set as well, along with a cast of Detek residents and a "very special surprise guest."
