Scott Monteith has outlined details for his next album, due out in June on his new label, BLKRTZ.
Though many of his recent records have sported a more club-ready sound, Scott Monteith's music has had some fairly experimental moments, especially on his albums for ~scape. Drawn & Quartered shows him returning to this sparse production style, with five tracks that are heavy on atmosphere and light on kick drums, and each of which stretches past the 10-minute mark. It will be the first release on his new BLKRTZ label, a project Monteith says was partly inspired by ~scape's recent closure.
The album features all new tracks from Deadbeat, including a new take on the B-side from his Vampire EP on Echocord, this time with horns from David Koch, AKA DeWalta. A few weeks ahead of the its release, Moteith will presumably showcase this new material at the Mutek festival in Montreal, where he'll play live with the visual artist Lillevan.
