The Canadian producer hits the road in August, starting with a headlining set at Lollapalooza in Chicago.
Deadmau5 will take his expansive live show on tour later this year, with three months of appearances throughout the US and Canada.
As Deadmau5, Joel Zimmerman has spent the last five years cultivating a devoted following for his big-room electro, played from beneath an over-sized mouse head. While he's known for colorful off-stage antics-he auctioned off his mouse head and donated the proceeds to Japan's Red Cross, and then had his real head punched by an angry local DJ while on tour in Australia-he also operates his own Mau5trap Recordings imprint, which has put out records from Skrillex and Moguai among others. He produces occasionally for Ultra Music as well, and next month that label will release a live DVD of his performance at the 19,000-capacity Earls Court in London last year–the first time an electronic musician has sold out that venue.
With a new live show in tow, Deadmau5's trek begins in August and pushes into the fall, with 18 appearances so far scheduled into early November. A headlining performance at Lollapalooza in Chicago starts things off, before he heads to the West Coast for a leg of shows including a set at San Francisco's Outside Lands Festival. From there the road leads to Denver where he'll play at Red Rocks Amphitheater before traveling south in September to spend a night in Phoenix and Atlanta followed by a three-show run in Texas. The tour then moves on to Philadelphia and the east coast, before things wind down with a few cross-country jaunts to Detroit, San Diego and Toronto.
