  • Mijk van Dijk and Florian Schirmacher are ready to release their debut album as The Chaenge, entitled Rebellion. At a glance, van Dijk and Schirmacher could hardly seem more different: the former is a veteran of '90s techno, the latter is a singer and producer in experimental house projects like Wareika. But the two artists have a shared love for funk and new wave, which they tap into with The Chaenge, a project that until now has put out just one 12-inch, last year's Love Devotion. As with that release, Rebellion features van Dijk on bass and Schirmacher on vocals, both backed by flamboyant keyboards and drum machines. Along with nine originals from the duo, the record includes a cover of "Dance Electric," a 1985 club single that Prince wrote for one of his band members, André Cymone. Rebellion will come out later this month through Schirmacher's label, FormResonance. Tracklist 01. City Of Love 02. Rebellion 03. Colour Clash 04. Love Devotion 05. Dance Electric 06. Orbituary 07. Black Jack 08. Out Of Paradise 09. She's So Lovely FormResonance will release Rebellion on June 27th, 2011.
