- The digital release comes with a limited edition painting on wood.
Ezekiel Honig has revealed details for a new live album, Untitled Folding.
According to Honig, the release is "as much about the visual, physical art object as it is about the sound." It will be sold through his website as a 10"x10" oil and watercolor painting on wood, which will come with a code to download the album. "Rather than tack on a CD to the object, I wanted to call attention to the lack of need for a physical delivery device for the audio, allow it to break free of packaging constraints of any sort, and go a step further than cover art." Honig plans to complete three paintings each week, and will make 99 of them in total. The first set are for sale now through his website, and the rest will become available as he completes them.
Untitled Folding documents Honig's performance at the CD release party for his latest album, Folding In On Itself, which took place in New York on May 12th of this year. It consists of loops and sounds from that LP, rearranged and mixed on the fly with new and unreleased material.
