- Mobilee will release the French producer's first full-length in September.
Rodriguez Jr. will release his first album this September, entitled Bittersweet.
Real name Olivier Mateu, Rodriguez Jr. is a synth-obsessed French artist whose career began a decade ago with The Youngsters, his duo with Gilles Escoffier. After putting out string of records together, including two albums on Laurent Garnier's F Communications, Mateu went solo and started making 12-inches for labels like Mothership and Brique Rouge, eventually debuting on Mobilee last year with an EP called Princess Guacamole.
Bittersweet was mostly conceived on the road, as Mateu played clubs in Japan, North America and around Europe, but the tracks were recorded at his personal studio in Belgium. Guest appearances come from And.ID, who plays trumpet on "Los Matadores," and the vocalist Cari Golden.
