- The Brisbane store will cease trading in less than two weeks.
Brisbane's oldest record store, Rocking Horse Records, will soon be closing its doors.
Rocking Horse has been trading since the mid-'70s. Recent years, however, have seen the store run into financial difficulty, brought about by the rise of digital music sales, increasing rent and the lasting effects of the 2010-2011 Brisbane floods. The news comes just one month after Spank! Records, a vinyl and equipment retailer in Sydney, announced that it would be going out of business.
So far, the date of Rocking Horse's final day of trading hasn't been announced, but is likely to be within the next two weeks.
