  • Onur Özer will head to the United States this month to play events across the country. A native of Istanbul, Turkey, Özer was an important figure in the early days of the popular Berlin label Vakant. Most of his tracks and remixes have been released on the label, including Kasmir, his full-length album from 2007. He regularly plays in Berlin and across Germany; a year after releasing Kasmir Özer curated Watergate 01, the first mix CD in an ongoing series from that club's in-house imprint. Aside from a New Years Eve set in New York last year, US appearances from Özer have been rare over the years, and these eight announced parties across the next two weeks will make this tour his most ambitious stateside venture yet. He'll first play Boston this Thursday, followed by a Friday night Graffiti party in Chicago. The following evening Özer will head to New York for Crazy Larry's loft party, where he'll close out the morning with a six-hour set. Later that day, he'll jet to Washington DC to take over the decks on Tabaq Bistro's terrace at sunset. Next Thursday, Özer will head to Austin, Texas to play at Plush before traveling north to Minneapolis on Friday. That Saturday sees the tour's sole West Coast appearance, in San Francisco. There, Özer will headline another all-night bash with help from Drumcell. The tour is scheduled to end next Sunday the 21st in Miami with an all day bash at The Electric Pickle.
