- a.r.t.less will release Martin Bonds' first new material in almost two decades next month.
Detroit veteran Martin Bonds will release his first ever artist album next month through Mojuba sub-label a.r.t.less.
Surkit Chamber - The Melding features the first new productions from Bonds as Real by Reel in nearly 20 years. Though he's kept a low profile throughout much of his career, Bonds had a significant influence on the sound of Detroit techno in the early '90s, thanks to remixes as Marty Hardy and his pivotal 12-inch Surkit, which a.r.t.less revisited last year with 20 Years Surkit. The Melding comes with artwork by Abdul Haqq of Third Earth Visual Arts, whose past credits include sleeve designs for Underground Resistance, Red Planet and Transmat. The album will be available digitally and as a double-LP.
