  • UK producers Dan Blishen and Andy Hobbs, also known as Zyon Base and Hobzee, will release their first collaborative album as Silent Dust next month. Blishen and Hobbs have been making drum & bass records (together and separately) for the past five years or so, and sought to try something different as Silent Dust. On their self-titled debut album, they leave the club behind almost entirely while staying loyal to the fundamentals of their genre. "We wanted this to be a drum & bass album, above all," they say. "We just wanted to expand what we considered D&B to be. Even the purely ambient tracks were written at 160-170 BPM." Silent Dust's first LP was originally penciled in for release on Soul:R, Marcus Intalex's label, but when that fell through they decided to release it themselves on none60. It will be preceded by two 12-inch extractions with remixes by Calibre, Om Unit and Marcus Intalex, and followed in November by a digital remix EP. The film noir-inspired cover art is by Bristolian designer James BW Lewis. Tracklist 01. One 02. Marlowe 03. A Million Words 04. Zero Nine Zero 05. Typist 06. Shadows on the Wall feat. DRS 07.
