Freedom in the Park hits Berlin

- Freedom in the Park, a demonstration and music event, will take place in Berlin's Gorlitzer Park this Friday. At its core, Freedom in the Park is a gathering of ideas as well as a demonstration, organized by Maayan Nidam with support from "Farbfernseher, Tuning Spork Efforts Team (Jay Haze & Isis Salvaterra), Wilde Renate, Visionquest and many other supporters from the electronic music community." With the aim of raising awareness around various global issues—particularly the financial crisis and economic inequality—via open dialogue between attendees, the event will also feature performances from a number of locally-based DJs, including Shaun Reeves, Ryan Crosson, Sammy Dee, Mike Shannon and Hello? Repeat Soundsystem (Jan Krueger and Daze Maxim), as well as Nidam herself and a range of unnamed guests. The event gets started at 11:00 AM on Friday.
