Items & Things will release the Berlin-based techno artist's next album in March.
Houle has been a key figure in minimal techno for years, having grown up in Windsor, Canada with Richie Hawtin before launching his career as a producer in Berlin in the early '00s. He was a core member of the Minus crew until last summer, when he broke from the label with Magda and Troy Pierce, partly in order to focus more on Items & Things, the label they've run together since 2006.
Undercover will be Items & Things' first full-length, and Houle's first solo release ever on a label other than Minus. According to a press release, it shows him continuing to expand his sound, toying with less club-friendly tempos and the occasional non-4/4 rhythm. All of the tracks are previously unreleased.
