The Mannheim producer will release his first album in March through his own label, Cécille Records.
Nick Curly will release his debut album this March, entitled Between the Lines.
Curly is a key purveyor of the so-called "Mannheim Sound," a hard-to-pin-down style of house emanating from his home city in Germany and the artists that live there, such as Markus Fix or Johnny D. He's also a co-founder of two prolific labels: 8bit and Cécille Records, both of which are steady outlets of club-tailored tech house from Mannheim and beyond. Many of Curly's past EPs have aimed expressly for the club, but on Between the Lines he changes his tune a bit: its 13 tracks show a subtler side of his palette, sometimes thanks to soulful guest singers, while also maintaining the club energy that defines most of his catalog.
The release party for the album takes place this weekend at Watergate in Berlin, with Curly playing alongside Michael Mayer, Dorian Paic, Woody, and Henrik Bertsch. All of the tracks on Between the Lines are previously unreleased.
