This Spring, Claude VonStroke and friends will play at parties on both sides of the Atlantic.
San Francisco's beloved Dirtybird label will team up with Point Blank for a trans-Atlantic series of Hatched parties over the next few months.
Founded in 2005, Dirtybird has its roots in the daytime BBQ parties that Claude VonStroke, Worthy and the brothers Justin Martin and Christian Martin started throwing ten years ago in Golden Gate Park. The label has since become synonymous with funky, bass-heavy house and techno (and lots of fowl play) and now has more than 60 releases under its belt, including the recent Hatched EPs that will be assembled into a forthcoming compilation.
VonStroke will play at all of the stops on the upcoming Hatched Tour, joined by rotating cast of Dirtybird artists. Worthy, Justin Martin and Christian Martin (playing under his Leroy Peppers guise) will join the fun, along with J.Phlip, Julio Bashmore, Catz 'N Dogz, Eats Everything and many others. The tour begins next Friday night in New York, then heads to Miami in March during WMC for a daytime showcase and BBQ.
Possibly the biggest Dirtybird lineup ever will descend on London in April, a month before the label returns to California for parties in San Francisco and LA. If your mind is already on Movement weekend in Detroit, mark your calendar: the Hatched Tour will wind down in the Motor City on Saturday, May 26th—details TBA.
