- Due out in March on diametric., Xenolith shows Weinberg's experimental side.
Arne Weinberg will release his first album as Valanx in March, entitled Xenolith.
Until now Weinberg's forte has mostly been atmospheric techno, but Xenolith shows him shedding the restrictions of club compatibility in favor or something more avant-garde. It's a departure from his past work both under his real name (which he has allegedly stopped using on his records) and his music as Onmutu Mechanicks, a more dub-influenced project that's been released primarily on Echocord. The murky, abstract LP will come out diametric., a label Weinberg founded in 2008 after moving from South Germany to Glasgow. Like the rest of Diametric's catalog, it will be limited to 300 vinyl and 150 CDR copies, with no digital release.
