- Monkeytown Records will release the duo's next LP in April.
This April, Lazer Sword will release a new album called Memory on one of Modeselektor's labels, Monkeytown Records.
Lazer Sword is Antaeus Roy (AKA Lando Kal) and Bryant Rutledge, two producers who started making music together in 2006 while they both worked at XLR8R in San Francisco. These days they live on opposite side the globe, with Roy in Berlin and Rutlidge in LA, but that hasn't slowed them down too much. Memory lands less than two years after their self-titled debut album, and features all previously unreleased cuts of bass-heavy, hip-hop-influenced weirdness. The album features two guest appearances: one from like-minded beatsmith Travis Stewart, AKA Machine Drum, the other from Berlin-based Warp artist Jimmy Edgar.
