- Ascetic Ideals, the second album from Whittaker's solo project, is due out in May on Modern Love.
Miles Whittaker is ready to release his second album as Suum Cuique, entitled Ascetic Ideals.
Whittaker is a man of many aliases and collaborations, most notably Demdike Stare, Pendle Coven and MLZ, and all of them release nearly all of their music on Modern Love. Suum Cuique is no exception—Whittaker released Midden, his first album under that banner, on the sub-label Young Americans in 2010, and An Ascetic Ideal will see release on Modern Love itself next month. The album shares the dark and uncompromising style of his other projects, though the production method was slightly different: this time Whittaker went for more of a live approach, limiting himself to analog equipment and forgoing any overdubs or edits. Ascetic Ideals will be available on vinyl only in a run of 700 copies.
