- The Sao Paulo-based artist will release his new "mini-album" on Phantasy Sound in August.
Babe, Terror will release Knights on August 20th.
Claudio Szynkier first emerged in 2009 with his debut album Weekend before signing to Erol Alkan's Phantasy Sound, for which he's released two EPs. The Babe, Terror project was originally started by the Brazilian artist "as a soundtrack to 'cold Saturday afternoons' at home and long, late night walks around his hometown of Sao Paulo." His music is heavy on synthesizers with more emphasis on sound design than danceable beats, with the artist himself calling it WDM—"wrong dance music"—and a press release describing Knights as "34 minutes of raw primitive drum machine beats colliding with a wild-collage of samples, hymnal vocal chants, swooning reversed guitars slathered in hiss, and slurring keyboards." Knights is purported to be Babe, Terror's own idiosyncratic take on classic-leaning house and techno, and will apparently be the first in a series of releases through 2012.
