The drum & bass producer will play techno on the West Coast for the first time this week.
San Diego-based, UK-born producer James Clements has been exploring different genres for years now; though he's most often associated with drum & bass, he's also released an ambient LP, dubby, atmospheric techno under the Mindspan alias and genre-bending bass music as well. Recently he's been banging out straight-up techno on labels like Perc Trax and Mote-Evolver, and earlier this year he debuted a new techno DJ routine in New York City, playing a set made up mostly of his own unreleased material.
The West Coast will get its first peek at the 4/4 side of Clements' crate this Thursday. He'll be headlining Futra, a self-proclaimed multimedia party at Los Globos that has previously booked acts like Distal and DVS1. The night will also see DJ sets from Futra artist Eezir and LA local Modesty, a live performance from fellow local Alluxe, and visuals from FACE.
Tickets for Futra presents ASC are available here on RA.
