- The veteran producer will return with 17 new tracks on the Dutch imprint.
John Beltran will release his ninth solo album, Amazing Things, in March on Dutch imprint Delsin.
The album comes two years after Delsin compiled Ambient Selections, a career-spanning retrospective of Beltran's experimental work. Amazing Things will consist of all new material, making it his first new album since 2006's Human Engine. The Michigan producer is best known for his extensive '90s output on labels like R&S, Peacefrog and Carl Craig's Retroactive (in recent times he's also developed a new sideline writing "all kinds of house" music for the Oprah Winfrey show).
"There was no real plan [for Amazing Things]," Beltran says. "Some of these songs are over two years old. This album is truly an accumulation of music inspired by my life as a new father but I didn't write these songs for an album per se. I guess it was just written with a lot of love." He added: "I'm using all new gear and virtual synths that I didn't have when writing Human Engine so it sounds different for sure. And let's just say that this album still wouldn't be finished had a friend not turned me on to the software Omnisphere."
