- Mike Paradinas will release his first solo album since 2007 in June.
µ-Ziq will release Chewed Corners on June 25th.
Brighton-based Mike Paradinas is better known these days as the founder and manager of the adventurous Planet Mu imprint, where he's signed albums by Machinedrum, Kuedo and Ital in the recent past. He was relatively quiet on the production front up until the beginning of this year, but has quite a history in dance music—under his µ-Ziq alias (amidst countless others), Paradinas was a staple of the UK IDM scene, working with Aphex Twin and appearing on labels like Rephlex.
Chewed Corners is his first full-length since 2007's Duntisbourne Abbots Soulmate Devastation Technique. It follows the recently announced XTEP as well as Love and Devotion, the record he released with his wife as Heterotic in March. While Duntisbourne reflected Paradinas' interest in a darker-tinged breakcore palette, the new one presents a much more peaceful sound in line with his Heterotic project. The press release describes the album as "a suite of fourteen retro-futurist tracks, created with a lush, analogue sounding palette," including hints at footwork and 80s pop music. All 14 tracks on Chewed Corners are previously unreleased.
