  • Homopatik has inaugurated its own record label called Homophilics. For the uninitiated, Homopatik is a monthly Berlin party that takes place at ://about blank, known for its loose vibes and anything-goes atmosphere. Its founder and chief resident Francesco De Nittis (AKA Mr. Ties) was recently the subject of an in-depth feature by RA's Will Lynch, who wrote that "today many people, whatever their sexual orientation, would tell you [Homopatik] is the best party in Berlin." This isn't the first time that De Nittis and his colleagues have pressed records—they've operated a privately-distributed record label for close friends in the past. But Homophilics marks their first foray into public pressing, with 001 distributed by Wordandsound and limited to 500 copies. The 12-inch comprises two heady analogue jams credited simply to the "Homopatik Crew." The label says it intends to "use pure analogue sound, recording straight to tape and using computers only as a sequencer." Tracklist A NO-1 B NO-2 Homophilics 001 was released this week.
