- The plug-in maker's second iPad app, available now through the App Store, is a MIDI step sequencer.
Sugar Bytes has released Thesys, a step-sequencer iPad app.
Thesys is the German plug-in maker's latest touchscreen-enabled music app, following closely on the heels of an iPad port of their Turnado effects unit. This sequencer was created specifically for the iPad, with full MIDI compliance and Audiobus integration. From the sound of it, Thesys is meant to act as a cog in your studio or live setup rather than become the focus of it: it's fully controllable from a MIDI keyboard, allowing you to "transpose, manipulate, twist up, mutate, and mangle your patterns without even getting near your iPad," as the press release puts it. The video below should give you a good idea of what it's capable of.
Thesys is now available in the App Store for $14.99 or 13.99 Euro.
