  • Ann Arbor producer D'Marc Cantu will head to Chicago on Saturday, July 27th, teaming up with Nation boss (and fellow jakbeat purveyor) Traxx for a party at The Burlington called Anarchy. Billed as "an intimate evening of sonic destruction," Anarchy will be Cantu's first appearance in the Windy City since 2009, and it comes shortly after a mini-tour of Europe and the release of his Some Fantasies Are Good EP, the first record on the new Montreal label Forbidden Planet. The night will double as a birthday celebration for both artists, and they'll each be playing two sets—Traxx will DJ, Cantu will play live—starting with a warmup selection of abstract sounds from Traxx. Cantu will then perform his first hardware-only set, geared more towards the dance floor. Traxx will follow with a longer, more intense session on the decks, before another live set from Cantu, this time focusing on ambient and experimental-leaning material, closes out the night.
