- The two musicians have collaborated on an album, due out in October through EmArcy.
Moritz von Oswald has teamed up with acclaimed jazz musician Nils Petter Molvaer for an album called 1/1.
The album was recorded earlier this year in von Oswald's Berlin studio, and across eight tracks the German artist's synth manipulations are paired with Molvaer's trumpet. Von Oswald's love of jazz is well-documented—it's been an underlying influence on much of his work over the past two decades, and his most recent LP, a collaborative album with Juan Atkins called Borderland, combined elements of jazz, dub and techno.
1/1 will be released on Universal Music-owned jazz label EmArcy on digital, CD and double-vinyl formats. The pair have a couple of live shows locked in around the time of the album's release: the first at Enjoy Jazz Festival in Mannheim on October 21st, and a second date at Hamburg's Überjazz Festival on October 25th.
