  • Rene Hell will release an album for PAN called Vanilla Call Option. Experimental musician Jeff Witscher has previously appeared on labels like NNA Tapes and Type. His first release for PAN sees "crisp compositions oscillate between flux and grandeur, piercing synthesis and meditative piano, strings and voice," according to a press release. Travel is a major theme on the record: much of the music was produced while Witscher was "on the move between airports, performance spaces and public libraries." The producer himself describes his music as "vertical narratives" that seek inspiration from acousmatic composer Bernard Parmegiani and experimental artist Charles Dodge. Vanilla Call Option will be the fourth full-length release on Bill Kouligas's label in 2013, following previous efforts from Jar Moff, Mohammad, and, most recently, Rashad Becker.
