  • Novation has announced its latest controller, the Launchpad Mini. The full-sized version has long been popular amongst Ableton Live users for its simple design mimicking the DAW's clip view. The Mini, as the image suggests, is basically a scaled-down version of the original Launchpad designed to connect to your iPad. Plug it into an iPad (via Apple's Camera Connection Kit) and use its 64 tricolor buttons to control iOS apps, or plug it into a laptop and use it just as you would its big brother. The controller comes with both of Novation's iPad apps—Launchkey and Launchpad—plus Ableton Live Lite, Novation's V-Station and Bass Station software synths and a sample pack from Loopmasters. Novation will release Launchpad Mini in October 2013 for a suggested retail price of $124.99 or $99.99 from Novation dealers.
