This year's Australian Independent Music Awards will feature a new category for Producer/DJ of the Year.
The AIMAs, established by MusicOz more than a decade ago, are commonly referred to as the ARIAs of the local independent music industry. While electronic music has been included in past editions of the awards, this will be the first time a producer/DJ category has been introduced, with Budweiser getting on board to present the particular award. Included in the winner's prize pack is a trip to the US to play at several clubs, along with a Pioneer Serato DJ controller and potential sponsorship opportunities.
Prospective entrants are able to submit examples of their production or DJing through this website before midnight September 30th. The awards ceremony will be held at the New Event Centre at The Star in Sydney on November 7th.
