The two dubstep veterans will tour the continent separately, with one date together, in February.
Dubstep OGs Youngsta and Hatcha will both tour North America through February.
Youngsta, real name Daniel Lockhart, goes way back in dubstep, a regular DJ in the FWD night's earliest years and one of its first prominent faces (he mixed the second Dubstep Allstars CD in 2005). Since then he's established a moody and restrained dubstep sound with his genre-defining radio shows. He's also tried his hand at production, racking up releases on Tempa and Osiris Music. The Londoner will spend most of his February across the pond, starting in Minneapolis on February 6th and stopping through Denver, Houston, Austin, Baltimore, Ottawa, Vancouver, San Francisco, Calgary, Montreal, Boston and Fort Lauderdale, as well as a gig in Detroit where he'll play back-to-back with Hatcha.
Hatcha, born Terry Leonard, is one of the few artists that could be said to be even more foundational to dubstep than Youngsta. He released early tracks on Tempa back in 2003 and mixed the first Dubstep Allstars, giving many people their introduction to the sound—he was also an important mentor to Skream & Benga. His tour, which begins on February 10th, will take him through San Diego, Las Vegas, Johnson City, New Orleans, Montreal, Baltimore and Denver. And before he hits the US, he has a few South and Central American shows as well: February 4th in Buenos Aires, February 7th in Cordoba and February 8th in Rio De Janeiro.
