The Berlin techno producer will visit Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver this week.
This is only Rene Pawlowitz's second trip to Canada, following a MUTEK appearance in 2010. The German producer is known for his wide array of side projects and aliases, which include EQD, Wax, STP, The Traveller, and most recently Evil Fred and Head High. His music as Shed tends to gravitate towards breakbeat-heavy techno, and that's the one he'll use for this journey.
The short tour starts on Thursday in Montreal with a headline slot at La Salon Daome alongside local producers Deadbeat and Ostrich. The next night he'll hit Toronto for a live set at RA's own night at Foundry festival—that one will go down at 99 Sudbury and also features Skudge and Kevin McPhee. Finally, Pawlowitz will end the weekend on the West Coast in Vancouver, again performing live at a Subversive show at the Korean Community Centre supported by a grip of residents.
