  • Chicago's Wavefront Festival will move to a new site this year, following community complaints about their previous location. Now in its third year, Wavefront—which balances big EDM names with more underground-friendly acts—usually takes place on Montrose Beach on Chicago's North Side. The weekend-long bash was evidently too much for surrounding communities: the bass was audible from miles away, while DNAInfo mentions reports of partygoers running across the busy Lake Shore Drive expressway that borders the festival grounds. Organizers have decided to move and have reportedly chosen 31st Street Beach—about nine miles south down the coast—as their new home, at least according to Dancing Astronaut (though there is some confusion about the exact address). The move hasn't been approved by the city yet, but the minds behind the festival are confident in their efforts. They'll also be beefing up their effort to reduce "neighbourhood disturbances." Wavefront has not announced any details of its 2014 edition yet. Check out our review of last year's festival here.
