  • Beatport CEO Matthew Adell has left the company to take up a position with SFX Entertainment. A Beatport spokesperson told Billboard: "His vision and dedication has helped make Beatport the company it is today, and we wish him well in all his future endeavours." Billboard say Adell will take up an advisory role with SFX, the company that bought Beatport in 2013 for more than $50 million. Lloyd Starr will step into the vacancy left by Adell. As well as continuing as Beatport's COO, he'll become president of Beatport Pro. "I'm humbled by this opportunity to lead the evolution of Beatport into what is going to be an exciting future," Starr is quoted as saying. "I'm looking forward to working with Beatport’s suppliers, partners, customers, and fans to continue offering the quality experience they've come to expect." Since its purchase of Beatport, SFX has been busily acquiring various dance music-affiliated companies, including i-Motion, React Presents, Made Event, TMWRK Management, The Meta Agency, Learned Evolution and Perryscope Productions.
