- The album is the first release on Anarchostar, the Atlanta producer's new label.
Distal has a new album in the works called Retrograde Space Opera.
The album kicks off the Atlanta producer's new label, Anarchostar—it also sets the scene for an ongoing "space opera" that will be further explored in future releases on the imprint. It arrives in October, two years on from Distal's debut album, Civilization, which came out through UK label Tectonic.
A big part of both the label and album is its visual direction. This is the culmination of a year-long collaboration between Distal and Argentinian artist Freshcore. The pair have constructed a series of illustrations that depict the Anarchostar universe, with fashion trends, science, pets, clubs and transportation all taken into account.
Sonically, we're told to expect a "more mature and balanced direction" from Distal, with a mix of dance floor cuts and more experimental pieces. Retrograde Space Opera will arrive on vinyl, digital and CD formats.
