- The 2001 solo album from Drexciya's James Stinson will resurface by way of new CD and triple-LP versions next month.
Berlin institution Tresor has revealed plans for a reissue of The Opening Of The Cerebral Gate, the 2001 LP from the late James Stinson's Transllusion project, which will come out at the end of next month.
The album was initially released on CD and double-LP on the Tresor offshoot Supremat. It was the second of seven albums, referred to as "storms," produced (via various aliases) under the umbrella of Stinson and Gerald Donald's legendary electro and techno project Drexciya, and like much of their work, these days it commands collectors' prices on the secondhand market.
As FACT reports, Tresor are giving The Opening Of The Cerebral Gate the full reissue treatment. Along with a CD version, it'll be made available on triple-LP featuring three tracks—"Look Within," "Unordinary Realities" and "Do You Want To Get Down (Vocal De Void)"—from the CD that previously had never been put to wax. On top of that, the 12-inch single released to accompany the album back in 2001, Mind Over Positive And Negative Dimensional Matter, will get a reissue as well.
