- The Scottish duo's 1996 EP has been re-recorded and re-mastered from original DAT tapes.
Boards Of Canada's 1996 Hi Scores EP will be reissued by Skam on October 13th.
The record arrived two years before the revered Scottish duo's breakthrough album, Music Has The Right To Children. It's been reissued a few times since then—in 1999, 2002 and 2005—and this latest re-release coincides with Skam's 20th anniversary. The record has been re-recorded and re-mastered from original DAT tapes, and will be cut onto heavyweight vinyl. (There will also be a Digi-Pak CD version.)
Skam say they've made a few nips and tucks to the original packaging: "The image on the back is now in colour. There will be a spot varnish finish on the images and text alongside differing layers of print, [and] a fresh new 12-inch double backed poster and Skam's trademark braille stickers."
The re-release of Hi Scores follows a run of Boards Of Canada reissues by Warp Records in 2013.
