An installation from Mark Fell and details of the annual opening party have been announced.
Visual arts make up a big portion of the latest announcement. Mark Fell will debut an installation called Get Out Of The Defensive Position, which is inspired by Dreamachine, a stroboscopic flicker device co-invented by American writer William S. Burroughs that was designed to simulate altered states of consciousness. Famed Polish director Jan Klata has co-produced a surrealist play based on a parody of Shakespeare's Macbeth. There'll also be talks based on the concept of "poor but sexy," a phrase which has been used to describe post-communist spaces like Berlin after the fall of the Iron Curtain.
Hotel Cracovia will host Unsound's just-announced opening party on October 12th, featuring sets from Xeno & Oaklander, Ninos Du Brasil, Philip Sherburne, Eltron John and Warna. Other new names include PAN artist Valerio Tricoli and Polish acts Jacek Mazurkiewicz, Gorzycki & Gruchot and Jachna/Buhl. All of these acts join the likes of Ben Frost, Dopplereffekt and Robert Hood on the bill.
