  • SoundToys has announced details of the fifth version of its plug-in collection. The update, introduced recently at the Audio Engineering Society conference in Los Angeles, contains a number of changes and new features, including a new retro delay plug-in called PrimalTap and the ability to run the package without an iLok dongle. The biggest new feature, though, is called the Effects Rack, and it brings together Soundtoy's myriad processing tools—like the Radiator distortion unit and Devil-Loc compressor—into a single plug-in. It also features global input/output level, wet/dry mix and global feedback control. "I've always envisioned all of our effects as a unified creative tool for music and sound design," said SoundToys CEO and lead designer Ken Bogdanowicz in the press release. "It's taken a decade of research, modeling and increases in computer power to get to this point, so I'm incredibly happy to bring this to our users." You can check out a preview of the Effects Rack in the video below.
SoundToys will release SoundToys 5 in Q4 2014.
